Angela Francis from New Zealand visits Preda

A special guest that came to visit Preda was Angela Francis from New Zealand. Angela arrived last 10 January 2024 to the 17 to visit the Preda homes for children and gather information about the project of Preda to inform the people in her parish in New Zealand about the work of Preda and to advocate for the rights of the child and raise awareness and promote action to protect children from on-line sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Angela is the executive director of the Federation of primary health – a national health sector body in New Zealand representing primary health interests and members including consumers, providers and clinicians.

However, her passion is for the prevention of child sex trafficking. She has visited Thailand on three different occasions and visited with the good Shepherd sisters to understand more fully the reality of child trafficking there. After the last trip in August, she gave presentations to 3 churches within her parish.

She interviewed the heads of two NZ charities that deal with child trafficking overseas. Angela has been to the United Nations to learn more about the rights of the child and statistics for this type of child trafficking. Judge Andrew Beecroft (the former Child commissioner of New Zealand) has also been interviewed.

These interviews are in support of her advocacy for the rights of abused children and for raising awareness of worldwide child sex trafficking. Her goal is to expose this dreadful injustice to children worldwide and remain committed to this important dedicated work. Angela interviewed Father Shay Cullen and made videos of the many activities at the Preda homes for rescued children that are in healing and recovery and being empowered at the Preda homes.

Angela took note of the legal success of the Preda Foundation action for justice by empowering the children to win and average of 18 to 20 convictions of their abusers every year and hundreds of abused children  have been healed and reintegrated to safe families  and are continuing their education in the Preda aftercare program.

Angela Francis, a truly committed person, generously donated 20,000 Pesos (New Zealand $385) to the children’s home. We are very proud and grateful that she came to visit the children and tell their stories to the world.
