The Millstone and the free.
When I awake and greet another day
I ask what challenge it will bring,
to help another victim, give healing
without hesitation or delay.Will I be able Lord to make you present
with my simple acts of loving care,
I know what you will say:
“Go to the highways and the byways,
invite them all to share,
a feast of friendship, joy and peace,
they will know I really care.”From dark corners of depression, sadness and despair,
You Lord will support the victims and justice will be there.
Freedom from their pain will come with power and words of truth,
To tie the millstone around the abusers neck ,
when the child is no longer scared, silent or is mute.You Lord will consign abusers to the ocean depths,
with contrite hearts they will hopefully repent.
Let the children be empowered to tell their story, testify and be free,
To live in peace, like an eagle in the sky, another life to be.Shay Cullen
