Pope Francis criminalizes “grooming” of minors and possession of child abuse material by Church clerics and lay leaders
The new section of church law by Pope Francis was expanded to include crimes such as “grooming” of minors or vulnerable adults for sexual abuse and it is a church crime for possessing child pornography.
According to the new church legal code Pope Francis has put Sexual abuse of minors under a new legal section titled “Offences Against Human Life, Dignity and Liberty,” compared to the previously vague “Crimes Against Special Obligations”. end
