For Mother’s Day
The loving mother holds her child in caring arms
There sees herself in the reflection of the eyes,
Affection and a love that knows no limit builds a human
filled with strength and courage,
Nurtures a life of value with soothing words and smiles.No greater force the world does know than
A Mother’s love of sacrifice, that feeds, protects
Her children until the day she dies.
With pride she sees them grown
succeed, with dignity in this world,
And have children of their own.Her strength nudged them from the nest depart,
They spread their wings to the world have flown,
To find their life, to travel and to chart,
Their lives of value, humanity to serve,
and a mother’s love to share without reserve.Then her days of aging, her life is lived and done,
She waits to see her children journey to her side,
and to her loving embrace return and there reside.Shay Cullen
