Warrington man charged with child pornography

WARRINGTON — A township man could spend the rest of his life in prison after being arrested by federal authorities for alleged child pornography.
Michael Schamach, 32, was charged with enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity and attempted manufacture of child pornography, a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia said.
According to court documents, Schamach asked an undercover FBI agent posing as a child’s mother to provide her 11-year-old daughter to Schamach for sexual intercourse. Previously, the defendant had allegedly offered a finder’s fee with a provision that the younger the victim, the larger the fee.
During two days of text message negotiations between Schamach and the undercover agent, Schamach allegedly requested nude and sexually explicit photos of the child, and agreed to pay to have sexual intercourse with her.
Schamach was arrested after agreeing to meet the child at a local hotel and arriving with lubricant, payment for who he thought was the child’s mother and candy for the child, the court documents said.
If convicted, Schamach faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment, with a minimum mandatory 15-year term, a minimum of five years and maximum of life of supervised release, and monetary fines.
