The Home for boys Department conducted its Summer Camp Activity on June 5-7, in Masinloc Zambales. The camp had a theme: ³KALIKASAN, aking pananagutan para sa magandang kinabukasan². The aim was to learn about global warming and its effect on humanity and how we can protect our environment. It was also important to use this time to remind the boys of their responsibility towards themselves and their group, as well as discipline, frustration tolerance, patience and the appreciation of the goodness of their co-residents.

All boys were enthusiastic and excited after arriving at the venue. They were given the rules, followed by lunch and in the afternoon the challenges began. All boys behaved well and participated with lots of enthusiasm. They showed the best of their skills, talents and teamwork in every game and challenges. The groups also performed their cheers with much excitement. In the evening the new boys had their welcome rites, facilitated by the staff.

The second day was sports day so after the morning routine the boys started with volleyball and then basketball. Everybody tried their hardest and enjoyed the sports. . Then in the afternoon the groups did speed challenges with many stations with difficult tasks. Then there was the much needed swimming session after fun filled, energy fuelled day. The evenings activities where very entertaining with all boys, staff and volunteers performing dance and comedy acts. The boys showed lots of creativity, talents and humor.

On the third day, the basketball championships began followed by a seminar by Mr. Alex Hermoso about the anti-coal plant: its cause and effect on the environment. The boys responded well by answering questions that were raised by Sir Lex. The special seminar on survival skills and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation headed by the staff of Subic Bay Academy was also successful and informative. Some of the boys were given a chance to practice their newfound skills using the manikins used in the training of CPR.

The last part was the Awards Ceremony. The group that gained the highest score was awarded, as well as those boys who showed special talent, skills, and cooperation.

The Summer Camp was thoroughly enjoyed by boys, staff and volunteers alike. It brought out confidence in the boys and they showed a lot of respect and sportsmanship for each other. It was a good learning experience for them.
