An Australian citizen was arrested in Honduras in September accused of sexually abusing two 12 year old girls in the town of El Paraiso. Daniel John Stepping (35), who also uses the alias of David John Steppings and Daniel Frank arrived in Honduras in 1998.he is being held without bail in Honduras.
An Australian has been arrested in India for allegedly sexually abusing more thatn 50 street children in homes he ran. The man has been staying in India without a valid passport and is thought to be Paul Allen alias Pervi Raj. He worked in various Christian missions before moving to Vishakapatnam to head a non-government organization operating 40 homes for street children.
In another matter, Indian authorities are seeking the extradiction of a German Australian man from Australia to face child sexual abuse charges in India. It is alleged the man was part of an expatriate paedophile ring operating in Goa during the 1980’s 1990’s. The ring was lead by notorious child sex offender Freddy Peats.
A Philippine court has ordered the release from jail and trial of convicted Australian child sex offender Victor Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald (71) was arrested in 1994 following complaints from a priest and children’s rights campaigner who had observed unaccompanied young children on Fitzgerald’s yacht. He was sentenced in 1996 and was the first Australian to be convicted of child sex offences overseas. His sentence was increased from 17 to 20 years on appeal in 1997. the retrial order follows extensive lobbying from a group of Fitzgerald’s supporters including alleged victim’s story with allegations she is now being pressured to change her evidence.
