Youth Development Program

Youth are a primary focus of Preda concerns in all its different projects outlined here. The children and youth are the the citizens of the future.

While many have special problems, others constantly need positive reinforcement, character building, role models in leadership and moral value building. Spiritual formation gives the young people a Christian perspective on life, a good moral character and a commitment to love and help others.

Preda tries to provide this in a variety of ways especially by making every effort to encourage and attract young people to participate in their own human development by personal and group participation in positive educational and character formation activities.

Residential Care Center For Sexually Abused Children

Through the residential care program a community of 18 female children ages 7 to 17 live together with professional social workers and house parents.

Some of the Children at Preda

The lifestyle fosters dignity, self-esteem, confidence and participation in all events. They experience feeling therapy and cry out all their pain and anger that they felt as a result of the abuse.

With love and understanding they are healed after and strengthened to face a future with a sense of self-reliance and strong self-esteem and personal dignity.

The therapy enables them to come to terms with their life experience. Together with counseling and group support they grow confident and secure. They are then personally empowered and frequently seek justice through the courts to bring their abusers to trial.

Non-Institution Care

The children are fully cared for in a non-institutional way. They recover through unique forms of healing therapy, affirmation, value building and spiritual development.

They are educated in a community-based elementary and private high-school. When their parents and family have developed emotional and economic stability they are reintegrated.

A child stays at Preda from nine months to two years depending on their life condition. There they receive full care, clothes, personal needs, allowances and schooling, each according to their ability.

No child is ever refused help.

Follow Up

There is a follow-up and after-care program that monitors their development and continues educational assistance as necessary. Preda provides help and assistance to the parents and guardians of the children to prepare them all the better for reintegration.
