Resolution organizing children and youth cooperative of Zambales-Olongapo supporting out of school youth (OSY).
Whereas, we, the AKBAY (Aksyon ng Kabataan at mga Bata para sa Bayan), the Children and Youth Organization of Zambales-Olongapo based at Preda, Olongapo City do understand the situation of the out-of-school youth, the working youth;
Whereas, it cannot be denied that there are children and youth employed in several hazardous jobs detrimental to their well being and health and human development and contrary to law, RA 7610 and the Convention against Child labor;
Whereas, due to widespread poverty, a large number of children and youth have dropped out of school and worked at menial jobs to help their parents sustain their everyday needs.
Whereas, the implementation of laws forbidding child labor are not strictly enforced or implemented by local governments;
Whereas, to give and share knowledge, in practical ways on how to be an entrepreneur is a way to assist unemployed youth and stimulate the economy;
THEREFORE, we, the Commission on Socio-Economics of AKBAY (Children and Youth of Zambales-Olongapo) recommend the following:
1. To conduct trainings on how to develop skills in order to earn money for the future.
2. To have different sets of educational seminars on various ways to develop entrepreneurial and management skills.
3. To have livelihood programs such as fish processing, poultry, meat processing, handicrafts, etc.
NOW THEREFORE, we, the Children and Youth of Zambales-Olongapo who are members of the organization AKBAY believe that the above-mentioned petitions should be given the highest priority by the local and provincial government. We are urging that these petitions be given respect and attention and implementation.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of the resolution be furnished to Business Entrepreneurs and capitalist to give full attention to this petition.
