Resolution Concerning Health
Series of 2000
Whereas, we AKBAY, Children and Youth of Zambales-Olongapo do know that good health and proper nutrition is a basic right of the Filipino youth;
Whereas, we believe that good physical and mental health can be achieved by means of proper nutrition;
Whereas, health-related problems are signs that the government is failing to provide for the basic needs of its people;
Whereas, the youth and children of Zambales-Olongapo who are in good health will be able to increase manpower to boost our economic situation in the near future;
Whereas, these children and youth who are the future of our country must be helped to attain good physical and mental health in the years to come.
THEREFORE, children and youth of Zambales-Olongapo and AKBAY members, in its pursuit to fully eradicate the basic health problems recommend the following:
1.) That the government should give a special attention to these health problems by means of community service in slum areas.
2.) That each town should have a monitoring committee on malnutrition.
3.) That there should be a team of health experts giving community seminars on good health and nutrition, AIDS Education and Children's Rights Education.
NOW THEREFORE, the Children and Youth of Zambales- Olongapo who are members of the organization AKBAY stands firm and believes that the above mentioned petition should be given as a priority responsibility to create healthy people of the Filipino Nation.
RESOLVE FURTHER, that copies of the resolution be furnished to be given to the Department of Health and have full attention to this petition.
