A GERMAN national who is allegedly a pedophile is now facing charges of child abuse, acts of lasciviousness and consented abduction after he was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

The foreign national was accused of molesting two minors in Cagayan de Oro City.

Mario Fiege was arrested by NBI agents at his home in Phase 2, Villa Ernesto, Barangay Gusa at 9 p.m. on Feb. 20, 2009 based on a complaint lodged at the NBI Northern Mindanao regional office by the victims’ father.

Roberto Mambo, a resident of Isla de Oro, Burgos Street and father of the two minors aged 15 and 5 years old, told the NBI that Fiege took his elder daughter, who was 14 at that time, to live with him on Jan. 5, 2008, prompting Mambo to file a complaint with police authorities last year. No action, however, came out of the initial complaint.

Mambo turned to the NBI after Fiege allegedly took his other daughter, then only four years old, in December of last year.

Fiege, a resident of the city for the past eight years and who used to be married to a Filipina, used to operate the now closed honky-tonk Club 69 at Cruz Taal-Burgos Streets.

The 15-year-old minor allegedly worked as a stripper at Fiege’s club.

Fiege persuaded the teenage girl to live with him after the club’s closure last year, lawyer Patricio Bernales, of NBI-10 said.

Bernales said more charges may be filed against the German pedophile after the NBI discovered that Fiege has an existing case of child abuse at the City Prosecutor’s Office, aside from the three charges they filed on Monday.

Fiege is now detained at the Maharlika Detention Center at Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. (ALR)
