SIX Unidentified men believed to be members of a flesh trade syndicate have abducted at least 10 female teenagers in Makati City, police said yesterday.

Police learned about the abduction from one of the teenagers who managed to escape and approached the authorities.

The suspects hold at least nine other girls, police said.

The girl who escaped was identified as Alona, a 15-year-o1d junior student at a Makati City high school.

Alona told the police that she was on her way home from the school when she was seized about 4:15 p.m. by the six men in a van in Comembo market in Fort Bonifacio.

The van bore no license plate number, P/Insp. Manuel Tolentino, chief of Makati Police Station Precinct 8, quoted Alona as saying.

One of the abductors covered Alona’s mouth with 4 handkerchief The scent of the ‘ handkerchief caused her to feel dizzy, Police said.

When she regained her consciousness, Alona climed that she noticed nine other young girls who were still dressed in their school uniforms.

“‘But they have different school uniforms,” she said.

The rest of the abductors were already inside the van.

At the time, she said, the van was caught in a traffic:jam on Edsa beside Edga Central in Crossing, Mandaluyong City.

When she looked at the abductors, she noticed that they were busy trying to get the van out of the traffic jam. She then slowly opened the door and immediately alighted from the van.

Police said that the abductors did not attempt to chase her for fear that she might make a commotion. Alona then took a taxi cab and proceeded to her school.

It was her school principal, Nora Serdena, who brought Alona to the Makati police. Alona was to be turned over to the the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force in Camp Crame yesterday for further investigation.
