150,000 views for Galway teenager’s powerful human rights song . The proceeds all go to support the work of Fr Shay Cullen’s childrens charity PREDA in the Philippines.

Preda Ireland supports the work of the Philippines based children’s charity PREDA in a voluntary capacity. We recently had a song competition based on the theme of Freedom. The winner 16 year old Róisín Seoighe has garnered praise from Damien Dempsey, Christy Moore, Daniel O’Donnell and Sharon Shannon and her video has been hosted by websites across the globe.

Róisín has got 12,000 views on YouTube with over 142,000 views on the American based news media facebook page of MRCTV in under 24 hours! This the link to their Facebook page:

Inspiring young singer song writer Róisin Seoighe gaining global attention for her “Freedom Song”
Róisín Seoighe, a 16 year old Transition Year student from Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin, Carraroe, Co. Galway is creating waves among the music world having won a national human rights inspired song competition organised by the Philippines based children’s charity PREDA. The charity was set up in 1974 by Irish priest and multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominee Fr. Shay Cullen. PREDA is an acronym for People’s Recovery Empowerment Development Assistance Foundation which works to free children from lives of exploitation and poverty in the Philippines.
The song is available for download on iTunes https://itun.es/ie/sEFU_ with all proceeds being donated to the charity. Leading Irish musician Damien Dempsey helped organise Preda’s “Freedom Day” song competition to coincide with International Human Rights Day has described the song as being “very passionate, soulful and emotive. Fellow musicians Christy Moore and Sharon Shannon have expressed their support for this thought provoking masterpiece which has been played on radio stations in Britain and the U.S.
Kamil Krolak, producer of “Fifty People One Question Galway” shot a beautiful video to accompany the song which has received over 12,000 views in a little over four weeks on YouTube with over 142,000 views on the American based news media facebook page of MRCTV. Preda Ireland’s Facebook page has up to date information on the work of the charity and media coverage of Róisín’s “Freedom Song”.
