FOR THE KIND ATTENTION OF HRH PRINCESS BAJRAKITIYABHA UN GOODWILL AMBASSADOR ON THE RULE OF LAW FOR S.E. ASIA

Yesterday, March 8th was International Womens Day. A day when all women supposedly celebrated their inner femininity. Not true for the majority of women here in Ireland and worldwide. Until all women are free there can be no celebrations. Perhaps a day of respect for those vulnerable women and young girls who have never heard of this event.
Below, Columban Missionary priest and PREDA Founder Fr Shay Cullen writes movingly of the plight of such women and young girls in the Philippines where he and the social workers at PREDA Homes put their lives in jeopardy daily protecting these exploited people under a dangerous rule and the threat of visiting international paedophiles. Many from Ireland. Women also abuse women. Both physically and in the workplace where unjust wages are paid for their hard labour in sweat factories so we as women can buy our clothes cheaply at the expense of fellow women. …and in the home. We have to look inwards and address this fact. Politicians also err, in lacking real support for carers in the home….mainly women… and children in State care.
In the meantime, PREDA both men and women will continue to protect the vulnerable people in the Philippines and expose the international paedophiles protected in the sex bars… and the politicians who collude.
We need to follow this example here in Ireland and in other States in the EU and worldwide. Men are our brothers, fathers, friends and we need to engage with them to right these wrongs as Fr Shay and his team of social workers in the Philippines do. As women we can nurture the goodness that lies in most people. Shay is the recipient of numerous international peace and justice awards and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize on three occasions. We can do this also if we begin a serious conversation on International Womens Day instead of all the fluff that surrounds it here in Europe
