UN Official calls for new body to end Child-Soldier Abuse

Secretary General for children in armed conflicts, has urged for the
creation of an independent new watchdog on order to end the practice of
exploiting children as soldiers. He called for setting up of an independent
body, which would issue periodic reports resulting in pressuring governments
into operation. According to a recent global report on child soldiers, there
are 300,000 children who are involved in fighting in about 41 countries.
