ANNEX G: 'Driver-pusher' Killed

TWO motorcycle riding men believed to be members of the Davao Death Squad (DD) claimed their second victim in 13 hours after they gunned down another along Florentino Torres street in Davao City at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Arman Mohamad Amerkhan, 38, a taxi driver of the Mabuhay Taxi Company of Mintal Relocation in Barangay Sto. Niño, Tugbok, Davao City.

Police said Amerkhan was about to start drinking coffee in front of the Rose Fruit Stand at the MadrazoFruit Center along Ponciano Reyes Street, Davao City at 11:45 p.m. last Tuesday when the gunmen attacked him.

He succumbed to two gunshot wounds, one on the left eye and the other at the back of his head.

Dr. Manuel Tesoro of the Davao Doctors Hospital pronounced him dead upon arrival at the Hospital.

SPO2 Roberto Ingalla of the San Pedro Police Station recovered two empty shells of .45 caliber pistol bullets fro the crime scene.

Recovered also from Amerkhan's wallet was 1,370, believed to be his day's earnings.

the money was turned over to Amerkhan's wife Gemma. Amerkhan's death happened 13 hours after Reofildo Danan, another suspected drug pusher, was shot dead allegedly by DDS members on the same day along Florentino Torres Street.

Reports said Amerkhan was about to drink coffee which he ordered from a sidewalk vendor when the unidentified assailants on board a motorcycle approached him and shot him twice.

The suspects sped off towards Quirino Avenue thereafter.

A witness said he heard one of the gunmen shout, "Drug Pusher ni", before he shot the victim.

Meanwhile a man who introduced himself as a member of a vigilante group called up radio station dxDC-Radyo Agong yesterday and said it was his group who killed Amerkhan.

The caller also told anchorman Dodong Solis that Amerkhan had been involved in a series of car napping of taxi cabs, one of which claimed the life of an Artville taxi driver last year.

The caller also tagged as Davao City contact of a Maguindanao- based car napping syndicate.

He also alleged that Amerkhan was a shabu pusher.

However, police sources contacted by Sunstar Davao refused to confirm or deny the caller's allegation.

Amerkan's death is under investigation.
