PREDA-GALWAY SUPPORT GROUP TO BE LAUNCHED

(Monday, February 11, 2008)

A support group headed by Philip Cribbin LLM, H.Dip is to be formed to support the People's Recovery Empowerment and Development Assistance (P.R.E.D.A.) Foundation Inc. founded by Father Shay Cullen, a Columban Missionary for 38 years in the Philippines helping abused and imprisoned children.

The P.R.E.D.A.-Galway support group will be launched in the Western Hotel in Prospect Hill in Galway city at 8pm on Friday the 29th of February. The launch will be held by Fr. Shay Cullen with Damien Dempsey, (www.damiendempsey.com) the well know and acclaimed singer being the honoured guest of the night. As a result of the ongoing support by the staff and students in Galway Community College, many more people in the community want to support the work of P.R.E.DA.

PREDA-Galway will organize concerts, musical events and other fund raising activities in the coming year and sponsor the Preda-Akbay theatre group during its tour in Ireland from May 23 to 27th. This branch of PREDA will meet once every six weeks in the Western Hotel, which will act as the base in Galway.
