Leaders must act for good of people

Well done Fr Shay Cullen (Universe 17/12/06) for once again highlighting the undue influence multinational companies have over countries and individuals.

It is for this reason are critical of the annual Bilderberg meetings – which have the unofficial title of ‘shadow world government’ – as they question why the leaders of western governments need to have private and secretive meetings with the leaders of large multinational companies.

It is further argued that parliament is the place for decision making.

Dare say some MP’s may respond to such criticism as being a fuss about nothing, saying that no decision of importance are taken at these meetings.

If this indeed is the case, then why hold these meetings in the first place? Moreover, why not publish the minutes of the meetings, or at the very least, the agenda of the meetings?

Most people expect their government, to act in their interests, and for the common good, without any influence from multinational companies, who are motivated by profit and not social justice.
