Absence of Justice Leads to Chaos and Violence

JESUS was a revolutionary in his time and for all time when he challenged and debunked the age-old claim that wealth was the evidence of Godıs approval and that poverty was the punishment for wrong doing.

He turned the world on itıs head by asserting the right of every individual to be equally respected and to proudly carry the stamp “made in the image and likeness of God”.  For this the establishment rejected him, falsely accused him and killed him.

He is still a powerful prophetic figure who inspires millions to voluntarily   forsake human pleasures and to give their lives to serve the poor.  No greater love can any one have than this is what Jesus taught by word and deed. His example is the greatest love and it is this message that is being lost today.

This is the age of sensual pleasure and unrestrained consumerism.  Possessing. It is encouraged by banks, advertising companies and governments too. We cannot remain silent. That can be a form of unspoken approval. The fanatics are protesting with bombs, we must act in non-violent ways. We all have to cry out for justice from the rooftops, not hide our faith and light under the bed.

The greatest sin of the well off is indifference and apathy to the poor and the dispossessed. Jesus makes it clear that compassion and relief for the suffering of others is the meaning of love and the foundation of a just world order- the kingdom of God is what we need not the kingdom of men.

The absence of justice brings chaos disorder and violent responses. Many leaders of the developed world are blinded by greed and cannot see the historical roots of terrorism. They incite it by retaliating with revenge and war and not justice and development.

When the disenchanted are instructed in fatalism by fanatics, they see no hope, no redemption, only more force, revenge and aggression that makes them insanely fanatical, hate filled and hell bent on killing and murdering on a massive scale.

They become terrorists that are beyond negotiation and believe only in violence as retaliation for what they claim is centuries of international aggression, violence and injustice by a Godless world.  They see themselves, as the wrath of God and their religious duty, they believe, is to inflict punishment on the sinners. Unfortunately it is the innocent who die in the fanatical acts of terrorism.

Yet if only the greed and the abuse will end and real development and international justice has a chance then terrorism will have much less to feed on
