Dear President Estrada,
On behalf of the International Society of Peace and Human Rights, I would like to express our deepest regrets that the Secretary of Justice has rejected the appeal of Father Shay for a review of the decision sending his case to court.
The political family in Olongapo, that opposed your election and administration, Mr. President, is well known both inside and outside the Philippines. We deplore the existence of that 'family' and what they are doing to Father ShayCullen and the PREDA Foundation. It is regrettable and distrubing that people of this kind are permitted to have such a powerful influence in the Department of Justice.
We respectfully request your personal intervention in this unfortunate situation in order to restore justice to Father Shay and maintain the rightful international respect that your country deserves.
