Honorable Secretary Tucker,
My name is Simone Diegoli and I'm a young fair trader working in an Italian
fair trade cooperative, named Commercio Alternativo. I had been so lucky to be
in Philippines in February / March of this year. During my permanence in your
country, I stayed in Preda Foundation and I saw the life of that organization.
I'm sure that the charges bought against father Shay Cullen are unbelievable and
baseless. His work is wonderful, a rare example of work against exploitations of
the children and the vulnerable.
After this visit I have no doubt there are people in Olongapo and also in other
sides of Luzon who are interested to end Preda's and Father Shay Cullen
important help for abused children. I deeply respect the work of all the Preda's
staff and they have my complete trust as honest, strong and restless "fighter"
of many abused and neglected children in the Philippines and all over the world.
According to this, father Shay Cullen will be in Italy, next year, to receive
prize, awarded from a human right association here in Ferrara.
Father Shay, and his collaborators, told me there are many good people in the Department of Justice, honest fair and impartial, and I know that should you order a just and impartial review the evidence will be reviewed in a clear way and will cause the dismissal of this false and manufactured charge.
Consequently, may I humbly and respectfully request the following:
1- A just review of the evidence against the two boys which is pending at the DOJ, Padre Faura, Manila so that the two boys will be rehabilitated;
2- A speedy and just review of the new evidence presented by Preda Foundation showing that the accusation are false and fabricated. Also a new resolution dismissing the charges;
3- The urgent protection and therapeutic help by the Government for the 7-year old child.
Many thanks, honorable Secretary, for the careful consideration that I hope you will give to this case. I'm sure that the charges of rape against father Shay Cullen will be dismissed as baseless like other false accusations in the past brought on by the same and well-known people.
