Dear Honorable Secretary Tuquero,
Those, of us who know Father Shay Cullen as, indeed, I do for many, many years find that the charges brought against him are unbelievable. However, because Father Cullen has dedicated his life and his priesthood to protecting the mist vulnerable of our little sisters and brothers, and because Gad has blessed this work and made it His Very Own -- all this means that those involved in the sex slave industry have been hurt financially and otherwise. So, it odes not surprise me that they will not voluntarily give up their lucrative trade of exploiting the vulnerable.
The best possible way to do this is, of course, to destroy the messenger, Father Cullen. If they get away with this kind of injustice, other organizations who try to help the abused and the victimized will, at least, be discouraged and frightened. Even the bringing of charges can in itself have a chilling effect.
Father Cullen has told to me, Honorable Secretary, that you are a good and just man -- a man of integrity. Consequently, may I humbly and respectfully ask for the following:
1. A just review of the evidence against the two boys which is pending at the DOJ, Padre Faura, manila so that they will be rehabilitated.
2. A speedy and a just review of the new evidence presented by Preda showing that the accusations are false and fabricated and, consequently, a new resolution dismissing the charges.
3. The urgent protection and therapeutic help of the government for the 7-year old child.
Many thanks, Honorable Secretary, for the thoughtful consideration that I hope you will give to this case in which there is so much human and tragedy.
