Prosecutor dismisses rape case vs Fr. Cullen

OLONGAPO CITY- The child-rape case filed against Fr. Shay Cullen, the
head of a child care center here, has been dismissed after the
Provincial Prosecutor's Office in Bataan found no probable cause to
warrant a case against the Catholic Priest.
In ordering the dismissal of the cases against Cullen, Bataan's
assistant provincial prosecutor, Oscar Lasam, said, "We honestly believe
that no probable cause exists against the respondent for the crime he
was charged for. Lasam gave the following reasons:
· From the very onset, it was Ronald Payumo whom the victim was accusing
of sexual abuse. This was the time she told her teacher about the
matter.
