British man charged with child abuse

British man Gerald Hart, 66, a retired technician, living in the Philippines has been accused of raping two schoolgirls in Noveliches, Quezon City metro manila yesterday 17 February. According to the formal complaint of the two minors aged 12 and 14 Hart became friendly with the children in August 1998 and had sexual relations with them then and in January this year. They claim that he used a hand held fan to spray a chemical that made them unconscious and then raped them in his apartment. Hart has denied raping them, but told police that the girls offered themselves to him. If found guilty Hart could face a life -sentence. If the younger minor was below 12 when the alleged incident happened he would fellow Brit. Albert Wilson on death row, who is facing the death penalty raping a twelve year old step- daughter. He declares his innocence, says the medical evidence clears him and that he was framed up. There is an Internet campaign to have the case reviewed and for the evidence to be reevaluated.
In Makati, Metro Manila, two foreigners Percy Bill Percy and Greg Harbot, reportedly to be Australian were accused with Filipino bar and club managers Feranda and Esmeralda Waysin and Andrea de Leon of trafficking in children for sex. A raid in the club by the national Bureau of Investigation failed to arrest the foreigners but according to minors found working at the club on Burgos Street, in a fashionable areas of Makati, the business district of the city where they were being pimped to foreign customers who preferred virgin children as sex partners and were paying as much as four thousand US Dollars for them.
Several prostitution dens in Bambam, Tarlac, Central Lyzon, were raided and closed for selling children as prostitutes to Filipino sex tourist from Manila and the surrounding towns. Minors, the youngest 13, were brought to a home for abused children and the bar owners and operators are to be charged under the Child protection act.
